Merging two distinct musical traditions, master fiddler’s Maja & David have created a unique sound and “a powerful performance of pure fearlessness, virtuosity, and musical personality.” Inspired by “the groovy beats, heavy stomping of feet, droning harmonies, and wild tunes” shared by Québec and Danish fiddling traditions, Maja & David have bewitched audiences with their uncanny ability to sound “like a whole fiddle quartet with percussion and a lead singer,” bringing contemporary folk music to a whole new level.

Releasing their newest album CPH-Café-YUL in May 2015, two years after the release of their debut  album NORD,  Maja & David stunningly intertwine their musical backgrounds to create original compositions as well as new, daring arrangements of traditional songs. The fiddles still lay out the basic sound of this contemporary folk music mood; however, more layers have been added with different instruments and beautiful vocals.  As Stephen D. Winick of The Huffington Post notes, "this is a real feast for fiddle fans. Their two traditions blend sweetly and seamlessly."
