Sarah's Note: When it rains, it pours

Outside my window at this moment, rain is coming down in torrents. Over the past few days the humidity has built and built, so that this downpour feels like a relief rather than a hindrance, a cleansing wash rather than a muddying storm.

Likewise, in my life there is a torrent of activity—work projects, new opportunities, personal changes, family demands.  As they say, “when it rains, it pours.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could experience these periods of overwhelm in our own lives as cleansing—a necessary process through which we can reach greater calm, satisfaction, and comfort? After all, work, opportunity, family—these are critical areas to build and grow.

So I’m taking a philosophical approach to the pouring that’s going on around me—pretty sure there’s a rainbow on the other side.
